Luke 42077 Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 I would suggest creating a separate topic about the reverse proxy because we have many other users here who may see it and join the conversation. Thanks.

SkyBehind 23 Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 So I updated the docker image, but Emby won't start. I duplicated the container (using Portainer), so it used all the same settings, just pulled the emby/embyserver:latest image. My logs from the Docker instance are below, any help would be much appreciated. naf623 10 Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Hi, I'm just wondering what the benefits are of switching from an apt-get installation to a Docker one?
vaise 340 Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Hope a simple question....... Can I run two dockers fro emby at the same time - specifically the beta one and the 'real' one ? They would both be pointed at the same media etc etc Finally, could i do an emby restarted from a save on 3.6.2 to the base release 3.6 - I dont believe the database changes are there in 3.6.2 are they ? I would change the 'name' after the restore and I dont think it matters if they both run the same config of auto organise etc. Thanks.
mediacowboy 438 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Yes this can be done. I am doing it now. One thing to keep in mind, and maybe a dev will correct me, but you can't have both servers edit the same data. So for instance you can't have the beta and stable both creating the nfo and image files. This was the case when I first did this in windows and have since switched to docker. So ymmv. I assume you mean 3.6.0.2 to 3.5.2.0, no there are some big changes in the beta 3.6.0.2 + series to the database and performance. And this warning for the next beta. vaise 340 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 well - that did not go so well - i added the production docker, changed the port on the install parameters to 8196, it started up, and the main one then broke - asking for manual logon. Im not that eager to do this broadcast test so I have deleted it - I dont want to get in more trouble from the family........
vaise 340 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Same ip or different? same IP yes...... It unraid with docker - so there are 10 things with the same IP. Edited August 3, 2018 by vaise
vaise 340 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 diff port - when installing the docker from the unraid apps, I get to put in parameters, one of those is the port - and i picked 8196
Luke 42077 Posted August 3, 2018 Author Posted August 3, 2018 I probably would have just kept things simple and used the defaults, and then go from there and change the ports.
vaise 340 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 yep - I think I need some time where I can bring down the normal 'beta' one, then create the production one, change its ports, then restart it and they should play happily then..... it on the todo list.....
vaise 340 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Any docker users using 3.6.0.2 in Australia ? And if so, using HDHOMERUNS or not ? And if so, can you record ABC (any of the muxes) and then play it back via emby ?
Trekster 10 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I'm running 3.4.1 in Docker I download the latest tag when 3.4.1 was the newest. Why does the server dashboard still report 3.4.1 as up to date? Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

However, pulling the latest image again will get you on the latest version and the notifications have been working fine since.
vaise 340 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 yep - I think I need some time where I can bring down the normal 'beta' one, then create the production one, change its ports, then restart it and they should play happily then..... it on the todo list..... I got this sorted, I can fire up both emby's now - unfortunately, the reason I did it was proven. I cant play any recordings from the ABC networks in Australia that have been recorded by tvheadend. This was in use for a month and working fine until recently - which I assume is the latest releases of emby so I don't really get it. Have to balme the different ffmpeg releases I guess ? We have a backup windows emby server to play this channel's stuff for now........
alucryd 315 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 @@vaise What does your server log say? Also what's the format of said recordings? Could you share the output of mediainfo of ffprobe for those files?
