@@Luke I'm supporting the libreelec addon that manages the emby docker

I just realized that emby no longer provides tags for the armv7 and aarch64 builds (ie. emby/embyserver:armv7) and instead there are two separate repos for arm and arm with neon?!?

Can you clarify what the differences are?

Also is there no longer an aarch64 docker build?

Thanks

That is the way our build developer prefers to handle it, so that's why we separated it. The neon version is optimized for cpu's that support the neon instruction set, so it will fail on devices that don't.

We don't currently have aarch64 support because there is no Microsoft runtime for it. You can follow our discussion with MS here:

https://github.com/dotnet/core-setup/issues/3100

That topic is about armel but it's the same issue trying to build the runtime for any architecture that they don't provide one for.

I see. Thanks for the prompt response.

I guess I'll have to figure out whether to go with neon or no neon

Both ffmpeg and the skia image processing library support neon optimizations so it is a nice improvement. We will probably be adding another package at some point for neon v2 cpu's.

Any Ideas how I can debug this?

Info App: All entry points have started
Illegal instruction
[cont-finish.d] executing container finish scripts...
[cont-finish.d] done.
[s6-finish] syncing disks.
[s6-finish] sending all processes the TERM signal.
[s6-finish] sending all processes the KILL signal and exiting.

using the latest tag docker image under unRAID

It keeps crashing and crashing....

I've attached the last two logs see it makes any sense.

Do you have any movie collections?

Posted (edited)

Yes, I removed a bunch of plugins at once and now I'm not sure which one is causing the crashes.

But it could be the Auto Boxsets.

Also, I see that the latest embyserver image was just updated.

How exactly are the version/tags updated? I don't understand how the images are tagged updated.

I mean latest as of yesterday was

emby/embyserver                  3.4.0.0             d1dd1768bb0a        30 hours ago        208MB

But now

emby/embyserver                  latest              a3e9c0259c8a        2 hours ago         208MB

Should I be using the exact version I want and keep it there until the next release version is announced?

The docker management system in unRAID simply checks if the Image ID in the repository is updated and then prompts the user to upgrade.

Sometimes the latest tag gets rebuilt for hotfixes or just because the build system had to be restarted. Both latest and 3.4.0.0 should be at a3e9c0259c8a, you can keep pointing to the latest tag, it will always be the latest stable.

In the older docker we had a UMASK parameter that could control the file permissions of metadata files, etc that Emby would create. It looks like that's now gone and all files are being created with 644 permission making it impossible for other users to delete the files.

Could we bring back UMASK or have another way to control file permissions?

Having recently upgraded my OMV, I decided to redeploy Emby in Docker, this works fine, but it's not displaying any Plugins under Catalogue.

Any pointers appreciated.

hasn't been updated in 8 days, possibly due to DotNet 2.1 ?

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something on my end.

Can someone help me, I am fairly new to the docker emby and for some reason emby is not detecting newly added media with real-time monitoring? It does detect the media when a library scan is performed. I know it's not detected because of I have notifications turned on for media and do not get them until a new full library scan is performed. I do have real-time monitoring turned on for all my libraries.

Did you setup your libraries using unc \\ paths, or smb paths by chance?

Neither I believe.

I am using docker compose

volumes:

- /mnt/media:/Media

libraries are pointed to each media category respectively.

/Media/TV = TV

/Media/Movies = Movies

Etc..

I do have samba running but only use it for coping media to and from server and it is outside the emby container/docker.

Why do you feel the realtime monitor isn't working?

Why do you feel the realtime monitor isn't working?

Because new media is not added until I do a full library scan. I have added media to my server but did not see it or get notified until several hours later when the full library scan kicked off.

Host OS is Ubuntu 18.04 with MergerFS for pooling of hard drives. Each Hard drive is formatted as ext4. I don't know if any if that makes a difference since emby really can't see it but wanted to listed it just in case.

Drive1 (/mnt/disk1)-----\
Drive2 (/mnt/disk1)----\|
Drive3 (/mnt/disk1)---\||
Drive4 (/mnt/disk1)---+++---/mnt/Media (MergerFS) : /Media
Drive5 (/mnt/disk1)---/||                         ^
Drive6 (/mnt/disk1)----/| |
Drive7 (/mnt/disk1)-----/ Docker

Before you ask if I am sure it is on I am. I have double check all the libraries. Took a screen shot of the movies library.
