Clean Reinstall, migrate history

Is there a way that I can do a clean reinstall but retain play history for movies/  TV Series? I am aware that sounds like a contradiction but:

• I am trying to resolve the issue of photos not sorting correctly. This has been fixed in the latest versions (for at least a year - I just haven't had time to look at this) but requires a clean install
• I want to retain play history for movies and series

Advice on how I might do this? Can I remove photos from the library, backup, unistall, reinstall, then restore the backup and re-import the photos?

I have Emby installed on Synology, if it makes a difference, but I think it should be the same process regardless.

It's been a while since I had to do that but, when I did, I simply used "Trakt" to get my watched status updated correctly.

It was easy and fast for me.

If you have Premier - then you can use the Backup/Restore plugin to do just this.

"User Playstate, Favorites, Resume, etc. - Select original user and user to import data into"

Gives you the option per user to do this, or do them all - your choice.

Thanks, I thought that last time I did this it did not resolve the image sort order issue, I thought perhaps it needed a completely clean start. But I might be wrong, I can't remember what I did, so let me try!
