Music Playlists - Editing

How can I select and remove multiple items from a music playlist? I can select and delete individual items but it doesn't appear to be possible to select multiple items and then remove them in a single operation? For example, if I have a music playlist compiled from a multiple set of Albums, how do I remove one single Album (all the tracks from that Album) from the playlist? Perhaps I'm missing something obvious or there is a need to install some separate plug-in for editing playlists?

Thanks. Is this 'multi-select' feature likely to be avaiable soon? Does the 'smart playlist' feature allow for multiple selections/editing?

It's the same checkboxes you already have when you mouse over posters.
