BAlGaInTl 288 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 So I recently added hardware transcoding capabilities to my server. Today I noticed some odd behavior. When an Xbox client is connected, the playback keeps changing from direct playing to transcoding hw to transcoding software. Here is what I'm seeing: I'm not sure what would be causing this behavior. When I opened the logs, I saw that over 900 log files have been created since yesterday. It looks like it's just this user that is causing the issue. I don't know if the Windows client on Xbox has anything to do with it. It also looks like they may have been trying to skip around in the movie. Could that be causing the issue? I pulled a random few transcoding log files from this playback and I've included those too. ffmpeg-transcode-71d13f61-fbda-4412-b3e0-b695ec879a98_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2f494593-9b67-45c4-8804-f56296332045_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-73d3046e-fc42-4d95-85e2-99a5ce1158e5_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ec3a77aa-2402-4221-ac2f-701bbdd2d0bf_1.txt embyserver.txt
Luke 42079 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Hi, try reverting customizations back to default and see if that helps: >>>>> Non-Default Encoder Parameters Warning EncoderParametersH264LibX.Preset: Original: veryfast Actual: superfast
BAlGaInTl 288 Posted April 27, 2021 Author Posted April 27, 2021 Will setting the preset to Auto work or should I set it to "veryfast"? I tweaked those back when I was struggling with CPU transcoding. Is there a way to just revert all the transcoding settings?

BAlGaInTl 288 Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 I've set it to auto. I'll report back if I see issues from that client again.
