Zellogize 3 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 To start this off, I'm new when it comes to Emby. Been trying it for a few weeks and works great most of the time. Great to work with etc. These issues might just be me not understanding, but I can't find a solution by myself, searching the forum and logs. So I seem to need a extra hand with this. The server/desktop that the server client is installed on is the same device I'm mostly using viewing the media, with Firefox as browser. The shows I'm watching mostly works fine. In some episodes the audio is just gone. While the previous and next episode is fine. Using VLC with the problem episode is fine, so the audio track is there. Unsure if this is a decoding issue, since most episodes are from the same source. In the player I can't really change or view the used audio track, can only see subtitle list. The cog doesn't have any audio settings, and right click only brings up normal Firefox right click. Maybe I'm missing something? Another issue I've seen (but very rare, like 5 times in 100 episodes) is the subtitles sometimes go out of sync. It can happen if I pause or skip ahead. I read there should be something to fix these out of sync subtitles, but I couldn't find any settings for it. Checked user settings, server settings, metadata and maybe more that I can't remember. With both of these I've tried restarting the episode, set it as viewed / not viewed. Audio on/off. Restarting browser & server. Is the browser/computer the problem? Like if I used my RaspberryPi or android phone solve the issues? I can give you logs if you need them, but unsure of what part you want (or should I just post the whole log of that time/day? Don't have the timestamp of subtitle delay though) Thanks in advance, and let me know if I put this in the wrong part of the forum etc.

Carlo 4561 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 If you didn't record or rip the file personally what I would suggest trying to remux the file to see if that helps. Often times this is enough to fix small problems in files. Do you know how to do that?
Luke 42079 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Hi can we please look at an example by following the instructions in the link above? Thanks.

I missed the last thing where it says everything is relevant. First post where I tried to get everything in. Now I know for the future! Timestamp for said episode is 021-04-23 17:50:34.995. I played it again in the above time, first time is 021-04-23 16:53:34.983. 7 hours ago, cayars said: If you didn't record or rip the file personally what I would suggest trying to remux the file to see if that helps. Only this I've edited with this show is the names of the episodes. embyserver.txt
Luke 42079 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Hi, can you please attach the ffmpeg log as well? Thanks !

Luke 42079 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Hi there, can you please attach the log file in it's original plain text format rather than pdf? Thanks.

There are multiple of those logs. None of them have that time, so I don't know which one you want. There are 4 different for that day. Only between 11:08-12:20. Time of problem is 17-18.
Carlo 4561 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Can you try to reproduce this and then upload logs for the specific playback with the problem?
Zellogize 3 Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 9 hours ago, cayars said: Can you try to reproduce this and then upload logs for the specific playback with the problem? Yes. I have some problems getting the ffmpeg log. It doesn't seem to create any new logs of this kind. Started a few different episodes, but still nothing. So then I tried using the android app. There it's sound on this playback. Phone browser (also Firefox) there is no sound. So seems to be a Firefox issue. I have the debug mode active as well. I'm running the episode from start to end and see if that creates this log. Did another restart to see if that did something, but no change. Didn't create this log.. Am I just dumb or am I doing something wrong? This is the list as of now: embyserver.txt 26/04/2021, 09:51:59 hardware_detection-63755025779.txt 26/04/2021, 09:22:59 embyserver-63755025754.txt 26/04/2021, 09:22:34 embyserver-63754991979.txt 25/04/2021, 23:59:36 embyserver-63754905582.txt 24/04/2021, 23:59:42 embyserver-63754819186.txt 23/04/2021, 23:59:43 ffmpeg-remux-8583d146-97b1-4d5f-aada-ab93899b00f6_1.txt 23/04/2021, 12:18:52

Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 ffmpeg logs are only generated when needed and will tell you in the title if it was remuxing (direct streaming) or transcoding as well.
Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Can you post the bottom part of the detail screen from the web app, for this media so we can see what codec and format are being used? Thanks

Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 That looks fine. Would you be able to provide that file for testing purposes?

Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 This plays back fine for me in Chrome with sound and direct plays.
Zellogize 3 Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 13 minutes ago, cayars said: This plays back fine for me in Chrome with sound and direct plays. Hm, plays fine in chrome here too. Only a Firefox issue then? It's weird that it's only some episodes and not all. Since almost all works except this one (and two more which I don't have the number for)
Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 OK yes I can reproduce this as well in Firefox. No sound when direct playing but if forced to transcode you get the sound back. I think I may know what this is. I'm trying a test right now.
Carlo 4561 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Your audio track is marked as AAC but tagged as mp4a. I used XMedia Recode to add a new 2 channel AAC audio track while coping the previous track and now in Firefox the new track I added/converted will play while the 2nd track that was copied will not. So it's an encoding problem, but quick to fix.
