Hi

I've set no limit neither for the user nor at the network settings.

Playback Info
Player: Web Video Player
Play method: Transcode
Protocol: https
Stream type: HLS
Video Info
Video resolution: 720x540
Dropped frames: 2
Corrupted frames: 0
Transcoding Info
Video codec: H264
Audio codec: AAC (direct)
Bitrate: 1.5 Mbps
Transcoding framerate: 37 fps
Reason for transcoding: Media bitrate exceeds limit.
Original Media Info
Container: mpegts
Bitrate: 2.1 Mbps
Video codec: H264 Baseline
Video framerate: 29.97003 fps

I've no ideas why. 😞

Thx for any ideas.

Daniel

Are you using a remote connection? Quality is set to "Auto"? If yes, try to increase video quality. Auto is very conservative.

Yes it is a remote connection and quality is set to "auto" but I cannot set it to the source quality.

The highest quality i am able to choose is 480p 4 Mbps. 🤔

The source is a videostream 720p 30 frames max bitrate is 10 Mbps.

My remote download bandwidth ist about 25 Mbps and my serverside upload is about 50 Mbps.

That's strange, may be the key to the problem

Maybe you should post the server log

Okay I tried  an other client.

If I use my IPhone a client the stream won''t be transcoded and uses directplay.

With the Firefox on my Ubuntu PC emby transcodes.

OK it seems to be a switching game between the vu+ plugin and emby. After several restarts and several setting variations I have now found a setting that works.

Thanks for your help!

That's because firefox and our iOS app support a different set of media formats. Our iOS app embeds a video player that can direct play a wide range of formats without transcoding. The web browser video players have very strict requirements.

There is also the quality setting in the app that the user is playing from.
