needed plugins?

I am importing family video and it is taking forever to update the library. All i want is a file thumbnail from the video and chapter thumbnails. Will uninstalling plugins speed things up if so what ones must i keep? All the files are on the same unraid server as are the video files . 

I am using 4.5.4.0

That's normal. That can take a long time if you enable the preview thumbnails feature
