eweitzman 0 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 When I perform a search in the web interface or on android, I would only like to see results from my local content/libraries. I do not want search results from web, i.e., from podcasts and such that show up as "song" results. For example, a search for "test" should come up empty, not with hundreds of hits. (See image below). How can I limit the scope of searches to local content only? - Eric

Guest Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Do you have 'Enable external content in suggestions' option enabled under Library> Advanced settings?
eweitzman 0 Posted April 15, 2021 Author Posted April 15, 2021 Thanks for the suggestion. But no, that setting is turned off. I don't know where the extra content comes from when I search, but I don't think I've seen any search results for "internet trailers" or live TV programs that this setting says it controls.

If there was a PODCAST (or other type) listed as a tab and could be shown in it's proper category that would be a lot better.
Guest Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Where exactly does it show that data to be located?... The only thing I could imagine.. since podcasts are audio recording is that they are mis-identified.. or they are music which has false metadata..
Carlo 4561 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 I think it's more a function of Luke not having broken these up per library type yet but will come in time I'm sure as this feature matures.
eweitzman 0 Posted April 15, 2021 Author Posted April 15, 2021 Thanks, @hexemby, your question cracked the case wide open. 4 hours ago, Hxemby001 said: Where exactly does it show that data to be located?... The metadata and images for these search hits are empty, but when opened, the background contains "tunein". They are all hits from the tunein plugin's search provider. There doesn't seem to be a setting to limit search to certain providers or, as my question originally asked, to just local providers. The options are to accept this as is, or uninstall the plugin. I've uninstalled it for now and that removed all the hits as expected. Thanks, everyone. - Eric
Luke 42088 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Right there is currently no option to exclude channels from search, but it's possible for the future. thanks.
