There was another Emby user that got stuck in the same place, which indicates that the instructions are not clear enough, I will attempt to make them clearer and include screenshots.

Thanks i figured it out and everything was going smoothly and i was getting new posters with the info, when i checked back later all of my posters reverted back to regular posters. Do i have to ONLYselect RPDB as my image fetcher? i moved it to the top but also had others under it checked.

@avispadid you enable the "Keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder" option? it should be in the same library settings where you found the "image fetcher" list. other users have complained about the images reverting back to the originals if this setting was disabled

I've seen a server that has the badges on the 'continue watching' posters. I can't seem to figure out how to do that on my server. Can anybody help? images attached.

Hm, those don't appear to be images of the same type: images with badges are either fallback series fanart or manually added episode thumbs, likely latter; though it's somewhat puzzling, it is the same episode - S03E01 - meaning same set of metadata, but the badges are different: IMDB+Metacritic vs IMDB+RT critics+Trakt+TMDB+RT Audience.

Gilded Age images are series thumbs, Emby's default behavior.

Try assigning thumb-type image to any episode, see whether you'll get badges in that scenario.

Another possible reason: maybe the other server admin is using RPDB Folders app instead of plugin, which might (and likely does) have some more/additional options, app/plugin Dev would have to answer that one. @jaruba

@SP33Rthe images in the screenshot you provided are definitely the TV Show backdrop, not an episode backdrop (as RPDB does not support individual episode backdrops atm), maybe what happens is that Emby does not find the backdrop for the specific episode and uses TV Show backdrop instead in that case? I don't believe that using RPDB Folders app or plugin would make any difference in this case as from both methods Emby just retrieves the backdrop for the TV Show, just from different sources (File System vs HTTP Download)

It's actually a bit more convoluted.

Here's a summary of what image type is shown in Continue Watching row for episodes:

Is there a way to easily go in and tell it to pull the background image first?

In addition to my question above, I'm also having an issue where some titles get the wrong badge on it. A 4k title getting a 2k badge. Or a 1080p title getting a 720p badge.

Here's the photos in my library. Video clearly states 4k but the badge is popping in as 2k. There's lots of other examples I could use.

@SP33RI just released v1.0.3.3 of the Emby Plugin, it fixes the 4K badge matching (also all video resolution badge matching for that matter) and includes new RPDB features such as:
- Logos with Ratings!
- New Languages (Portuguese - Brazil, Spanish - Mexico, Variations of Chinese)
- New Badges (Country Flag for Video Spoken Language and US Age Rating)

This is working, I think the issue was related to making the changes on my iPad vs saving the settings on pc.

@KyrunnerAre you also seeing the "Logos" setting too in the plugin settings page now? I was very confused by your screenshot as it looks like the v1.0.3.2 settings page (instead of v1.0.3.3), because it was missing all the new settings

I think that the issue was not because of setting it up on the phone, but because the phone maybe had an older settings page (from an older plugin version) cached

Yes I think it was a cached issue on the pc I seen all the new settings.

I encountered plugin settings page caching issues during testing too, I think Emby should use no-cache header for plugin settings pages to avoid such issues during plugin testing and plugin version updates, this cannot be done from the plugin's side as far as I understand

First of all, I apologize for my poor English (maybe)...

I've been using the plugin for almost two months and suddenly I'm having problems with it!

No new almbum covers are showing up and and the plugin selection option is missing from the list!

I've attached some pictures!

I´ve the Version 1.0.3.3

Thanks from Germany 🙂

@DTox83Hi! I tried with a Tier 1 key and your exact settings, tested both a movie library and series library, and I can't reproduce the issues. Did you restart the Emby server after updating the addon? And did you try a force refresh of the plugin settings page? (or to set it up from some different device?) The screenshots look like v1.0.3.3 settings, but the JS file may still somehow be cached and using the one from the older plugin version. One other thing you could try is updating to latest Emby server if you are not using the latest. (I tested on the latest version)

@Jaruba

Thanks for your fastreply 🙂 Yes, I've restarted the Emby Server several times.

"Forcing an update to the plugin settings page" -> what exactly do you mean by that? How can I forced it?

When I add new media, I generally start a full library scan (all) and sometimes even a scan of the specific library that has changed (selectively).

I have installed the latest version of the Emby Server: 4.9.1.90

@DTox83Can you send an email to contact@ratingposterdb.com with the email you used for Patreon? So I can identify your API key to ensure you didn't hit the request limit as it is close to the end of the month, if that is the case I can reset your limit, if that's not the case then I will look more into it, maybe there's some bug I missed
