ecrispy 38 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 I have a library with custom media for which I wrote my own nfo/added images. Now I want to just generate the bif files. Is there possibly some cmdline tool for this? Does Emby use this - https://developer.roku.com/docs/developer-program/media-playback/trick-mode/bif-file-creation.md? Or can I turn off generating nfo/downloading thumbnails? Will Emby by default NOT generate nfo/image metadata if it finds compatible ones in the media folder?
Luke 42085 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Hi, there's no command line option. We use ffmpeg to create the images, and our own code to write the bif files. Quote Or can I turn off generating nfo/downloading thumbnails? You can turn off anything you don't want in your server library settings.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 You just enable the option per library to generate 10s interval images instead of Chapter images.
ecrispy 38 Posted April 7, 2021 Author Posted April 7, 2021 Just want to make sure existing metadata is not recreated and is read. Guess I'll do a test, thanks.
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 The easiest thing to do is to use the Scheduled task "Thumbnail image extraction" It can be run manually by pressing the arrow at the far right of the text. whenever you wish and it will scan your entire library and only create bif files if they are missing and if the library's setting allows that. 1
