Carlo 4561 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Thanks, The mb.lic file should be in this directory if using a default install. C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config Change "Administrator" to the username you installed Emby on above.
sonusfaber 17 Posted May 20, 2021 Author Posted May 20, 2021 (edited) Nothing at all. I also searched for this file over the disk... nothing. In the config folder there are just 2 file: - branding.xml - system.xml Is this the correct directory? - Edited May 20, 2021 by sonusfaber
Carlo 4561 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 What about folders? Do you see other folders in that location? If not it sounds like you might have some stuff hidden because there will be more stuff in that folder. What's the date modified show for the system.xml file?
ebr 16171 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Okay, then go to any library in the web app and, in the url will be something like: serverId=a0c5b49f3f684f80xxxxxxxxxx Can you PM that to me? And, also, the other question I asked before... Thanks.

Remember that emby is working, unlocked, at my second house and I am not there, so please do not ask to me something that will eventually block the device in the second house where there my kids now... I can not go there and fix!!! Anyway... I am here in front of the other Android TV, where the Emby app already expired the trial period. 1) If I play something, it says that it expired and stops. Ok... it is normal, I think! the message is "Playback not supported please unlock or subscribe to premier" 2) hitting "unlock app" it asks me if I am sure to unlock because there is a Premier subscription and no need to unlock, but doing unlok then this device will not count on the Premier limits 3) hitting restore unlock says Unlock is not purchased Anyway, it is not important because I need Emby just on the device in the second house since it si connected to my servers at home with a LTE ethernet router and VPN. I am just providiong such infos for you, if you are interested. But... if this should work... it is strange. I aks again: are you sure that purchasing the unlock on just ONE ONLY device, then one can unlock several other devices without purchasing the unlock again??? Edited May 20, 2021 by sonusfaber
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Yes, so long as you go to the store with the same account .Paul

But in the end it applies to all devices via the same store and account as mentioned above. So Google and Amazon stores are different so they are separate purchases.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Just here in the forum. The KB area is mostly about server features and doesn't go into much about clients. But you can absolutely do an UNLOCK/purchase in one app and then a restore to the same app on another device attached to the same account. You can't unlock a FireTV device and do a restore on a Google store app. It has to be the same store, same app, same user account.

What happens if you try to purchase the unlock?

So, inside my LAN... everything is attached to the same switch with no restrictions. 28 minutes ago, ebr said: What happens if you try to purchase the unlock? Should I try?
sonusfaber 17 Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 ciao Luke I appreciate a lot you support and Emby seems very nice: I can access to my video library from any location through my VPN and it works even with slow speed connection. I solved the problem... YES... not, even with with the VPN on a mobile connection, Emby starts immediately and I found the root cause. At the first run, Emby seems to try to automatically discover Emby server over the network and it takes a while on a mobile VPN, then it remember the server but the next access is again very slow. If I do not let Emby to discover its server but I put the address manually, then it is always very fast. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Does the address that you manually enter match the remote address that is displayed on your emby server dashboard?
thesnappysneezer 2 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I have been experiencing similar slowdown upon startup, an in loading programs, even on the computer they are stored on. I thought that was normal for it, though it did not use to be that way.

What IP range do you use for VPN clients?

Carlo 4561 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I was going to try and duplicate your setup or get close, to test this but want to clarify first. Tell me if I have this correct. You are using a Xiaomi Mi Box S connected by WIFI to a MikroTik mobile ethernet router. This router then connects via Mobile Cellular Internet. Also you have a site to site VPN configured on the MikroTik back to your home LAN. What VPN rate do you typically see? 20 to 30Mb or so? You have an HPE Proliant server that is running VMWare ESX which hosts a Windows 10 virtual machine where you have Emby Server installed Is that correct? Can you do me a favor and run a tracert from a device on your MikroTik router to the Emby Server if this is possible? I'd like to see how many hops this is. Also if possible could you give us the IP ranges Each LAN segment and virtual networking is using? Feel free to PM me this info if there is anything you think is private and wouldn't want to post in the forum but I'd expect this to all be private IPs so likely is no big deal.

Thanks, but consider that deleting the Emby server entry "autodiscovered" by the Emby app and defining the server manually by its IP address... it solved the issue. To be sure, I again deleted everything, let the app to discover the server, etc... no way... it again takes up to 1 minute to connect to the server and show the interface. 7 hours ago, cayars said: You are using a Xiaomi Mi Box S connected by WIFI to a MikroTik mobile ethernet router. Yes, in this way all the device in the second house are more or less like to be at home. Anyway, I can also activate the VPN tunnel by starting the VPN client on devices. If I need to open the VPN tunnel to connect to the office, I am not going to encapsulate the office VPN into the home VPN... In any case, there is no difference between using the VPN on the router or on the device... same story. 7 hours ago, cayars said: What VPN rate do you typically see? 20 to 30Mb or so? Yes, it is correct, 20 Mbps is the minium, sometime I can reach also 50 Mbps, but it depends on the load on the mobile network mast. The bottleneck is not my VPN, but the mobile network 7 hours ago, cayars said: You have an HPE Proliant server that is running VMWare ESX which hosts a Windows 10 virtual machine where you have Emby Server installed Is that correct? Carlo 4561 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I'll try a few things out later tonight to see if I can duplicate your delay issue. If I can duplicate the issue any of the devs can use my VPN for testing. Thanks
