Subrip format subtitles show semi-transparent bars, can they be removed?

I have some problems with my emby server (emby Android sever  installed on SHIELDTV box), please help.

1.Can the translucent strip be removed?

2.And ASS format subtitles are displayed differently on different web pages。Can you fix it?

Ass subtitles are normal, srt subtitles are not normal.

OK we'll look into this for the next release. The problem is that safari and any safari-based browsers on apple platforms do not allow changing this. We'll have to do our own custom rendering and not use the built-in rendering.
