Hi Folks - anyone else getting the "playback limit reached contact server admin" pop up when trying to watch something?

I'm an Emby Premier subscriber if that helps ;)

I have max streaming set at 4 streams on my windows server pc. I had assumed this was for external streams and that local network connections would not be included in the "max streams". I have also gone into MY user and set the number of streams to unlimited.

Last night 4 of my family (external) were watching something and I couldn't watch anything on my own system???!!!???

If I increase the number of streams and they then get used up then surely all that will happen is the quality of the external stream will be reduced to unwatchable (I only have a 6Mbps upstream connection - don't laugh) :)

So does the emby server include the local network stream in the "max number" or is this supposed to be bypassed?

Thanks in advance folks.

Hi.  Is there something about the labeling of the option that led you to believe that?  That is not how that parameter behaves.  It is the maximum simultaneous streams.

The global limit will still apply here as it is designed to limit the load on the server.

Hi Ebr

Thanks for the reply - to be honest I'm not sure why I thought  the max number of streams would just be for external streams (maybe I've picked up that notion from other forums or other media servers and got confused) :) I'll have a play and see what happens. I just laughed when trying to watch something and got the max number of streams reached message (on my own server) lol
