Cluckbuy 0 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 PLEASE place the server name in the web page title at least and the app main screen, annoyingly missing. For system programmers some very unsystematic features exists. Likewise user name would be good too in the title. Little programming for smarter functionality resulting.. As we have many cue audio files (they need a playlist to be separated into tracks) they come with a playlist with Emby unnecessarily adds automatically adds to the playlist now confused on my system with some 1800 playlists when I want to only have a few to manage. Once again simple function is overlooked and not fine tuned. Request to scan one library seems to trigger a full index. A pain when one has many files. I'm still perplexed as to why the system needs to use a file system as a database and manages to generate some thousands of semi empty and null files and directories in 2021. Room for a competitor.!

Therefore, putting that server name (which may or may not be meaningful) everywhere would just be redundant and possibly confusing. Displaying it somewhere is probably a good idea though. 14 hours ago, Cluckbuy said: Likewise user name would be good too in the title Your user name and icon show at the top of every page. 14 hours ago, Cluckbuy said: As we have many cue audio files (they need a playlist to be separated into tracks) they come with a playlist with Emby unnecessarily adds automatically adds to the playlist now confused on my system with some 1800 playlists when I want to only have a few to manage I'm afraid I don't follow what that problem is. Can you please provide a specific example? 14 hours ago, Cluckbuy said: Request to scan one library seems to trigger a full index No, it should only scan that one library - except in some cases where many changes are detected - at which point it becomes more efficient to look up at the parent too. An example here could shed more light as well. 14 hours ago, Cluckbuy said: 'm still perplexed as to why the system needs to use a file system as a database and manages to generate some thousands of semi empty and null files and directories We don't use the file system as a database. Can we please look at exactly what you are experiencing here too? Thanks!

If it serves the function in some cases, why not use it? Paul
Guest Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Yes but he is actually stating that it is creating semi empty and null files/folders.. Which my metadata is in no way empty files.. so something else could be going on there.
