How to properly backup and restore libraries + metadata ?

I will be switching to a different vps server in few days and will host my emby server there itself . Although I won't want to rescan everything all over again for days . I was wondering if its possible that i backup  /opt/embyserver/metadata ( this is where the metadata currently resides ) and restore this exactly in the same path in my new vps server. Will emby be able to handle it properly ? Also on a side note , I don't want user accounts or any Other configuration to be carried over. I just need the libraries + metadata to be carried over as it is

PS / I don't want to save metadata to Media because i use google drive mount so metadata loads very slow from there , so i let metadata reside on my vps ssd which is super fast

In theory you need the entire "/opt/embyserver" folder as the the /metadata/library items are link specifically to that current database.  So if you only moved the metadata folder it would just get purged as the linked items no longer exist.

Thanks for the info , will restore whole /opt/embyserver. Hope it all goes well

Your only issue will be if library paths change.  If that happens then there could be some manual file and database updating.
