sjkiss 28 Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 I'm following the instructions here to try to get the path name for the folder that contains my Emby Playlists. but the instructions assume a sever running on a local machine, not an NAS. I can look at my dashboard, but annoyingly, the full cache path is not reported!!! It's cut off! So I don't really know where to look!
sjkiss 28 Posted March 31, 2021 Author Posted March 31, 2021 Ok I figured this out, using Terminal. But if there is a way to add a "copy" button or something to this interface, it would be helpful. Or be sure that the full path name is printed.
sjkiss 28 Posted April 1, 2021 Author Posted April 1, 2021 I'm trying to point my ASset UpnP to read the playlists created by Emby. There is an option in my Asset configuration page to specify a path to look for playlists.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 But Emby playlists in that location (\Emby-Server\programdata\data\playlists) are xml not m3u, doesn't Asset upnp only read m3u?
sjkiss 28 Posted April 3, 2021 Author Posted April 3, 2021 Yes, I realize that now. But I thought it would be worth a try.

sjkiss 28 Posted April 3, 2021 Author Posted April 3, 2021 I open the Asset app in my QNAP app center and land on Picture 1. Then I select Configure and land on the next screen where I can specify basically watched folders for music tracks and playslists. Unfortunately Asset only reads m3u files and Emby only process xml files. That's why I was asking for a way to get emby to automatically generate m3u files here. Thank you.
Luke 42077 Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Hi, yes at some point I would like to drop our proprietary playlist xml and just have our playlist features generate regular m3u files.
jprobins007 24 Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 (edited) I am trying to locate the Emby plugin folder. On my QNAP NAS there is no Cachedev1_Data folder under Share at all. I am running QuTSHero, not QTS. Perhaps that is the difference. Any idea where I should be able to find the Emby folders? Please ignore this request. I found the location. It was in the /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg/ folder. Edited January 22, 2024 by jprobins007 1
anthony_m 8 Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 (edited) Just wanted to bring this back up as there is no easy way to find out the path to the EmbyServer folder on QuTSHero systems. I had to erase mine due to an installation mishap and I finally found it here: /share/ZFS1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer After that one was erased it also seemed to clear all the other folders that previously contained an EmbyServer folder like the one in /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg. @Lukefor future reference it would be nice to include the path here, it would have saved me quite a bit of time: https://emby.media/support/articles/Server-Data-Folder.html Also for the Qnap the folder can be accessed with WinSCP as long as the option to display hidden folders is ticked: Edited September 4, 2025 by anthony_m
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 OK so that's specific to QutsHero. @sa2000can update that. Thanks. 1
anthony_m 8 Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Yes that seems to be the case, thanks for adding it! 1
sa2000 673 Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 Thanks @jprobins007for highlighting the issue and thanks @anthony_mfor the info So for QTS - the path is /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata For older QNAP NAS (running QTS 4.3.3.2784) i am seeing it at /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata For QuTS Hero - I need clarification on which systems have it as ZFS1_DATA and which as ZFS530_DATA Or is it variable of form "ZFSxxxx_DATA" where xxxx could be a number ?

I can only comment on my system and EmbyServer folders are found with these paths: /share/ZFS1_DATA/.qpkg, /share/ZFS2_DATA/.qpkg and /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg But the first two paths are only links to the ZFS530_DATA folder, no idea why they have another path even when I am clearly redirected to the same folder each time. So there really only seems to be one "real" folder, in my Qnap and that is /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg This is with QuTS hero h5.2.4.3079 Not sure if there are other folders relating to Emby but if you use WinSCP you could do a search in /share. 1
sa2000 673 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Thanks - what path does the dashboard view server info show ?

If it is, could you get me a screenshot of server settings / Dashboard / clicking on "..." and then "View Server Info" This is what an old x12 NAS Emby Server install shows:
anthony_m 8 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Sorry about that, I was still in Qnap mode Here is the dashboard info from my Emby server. No surprises here, it is in fact all in the ZFS530_DATA folder: 1
sa2000 673 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Thank You @anthony_mfor your help I have updated our support document here https://emby.media/support/articles/Server-Data-Folder.html From what chatgpt told me the 530 may not be for all models - so I mentioned it as an example for QuTS hero 1
