Misinthe 46 Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Hello everyone, You know how there's a way to Tag content in order to block it for users? I was wondering if there's something like that but to give access to users? Like, my son's account is TV-PG and I want to give him access to a TV-PG13 show, I could just tag that show and give him access to that tag. Thank you.
Solution roaku 842 Posted March 29, 2021 Solution Posted March 29, 2021 (edited) You can whitelist by tag as well as blacklist. But, in this case, you'd be better off using the custom/parental rating field in the Metadata Manager, instead of tags. This lets you display the real rating in the apps but the system will use the custom rating to decide access. Edited March 29, 2021 by roaku 2

I tried editing the TV show, then it appeared on his profile, but no seasons, then I edited each season, they appeared on his profile but without episodes, so I would need to go to each single episode of a TV show and change its Metadata, which would be a lot of work for long TV shows. As for the white list, how do you do it? I only see the "block by tag" section.

I have reproduced this. 13 minutes ago, Misinthe said: As for the white list, how do you do it? I only see the "block by tag" section. This is one or the other per the Tag restriction mode drop down box. But there becomes a conflict with tag and Maximum allowed parental rating as it uses both values. So tonight, all the episodes are showing, maybe it needed some time to compile them. I will test another one with just the TV Show, without doing the Seasons and see if it works after giving it some time. Thank you for all your help though. 1

I would have to test, but thinking back a library scan need to be done to push the custom rating to the entire series. Confirmed doing a Scan library files on the Series worked. So any library scan will propagate the custom rating.

Thank you so much for your help.
