Michael1952 1 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Hi folks, I just set up my HDHomerun Prime 3 and I see the channles in the Homerun software itself : As you can see it lists channle 45 in the line up. But when I go to the Emby lineup it's not there: I have tried refreshing the guide but no good. I also deleted the guide and reset it up and had the same result. If anyone who has a HDHomerun prime has any idieas that might help me figure this ot I would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance for any comments.
Michael1952 1 Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 H i Luke, Yes I did setup guide data in the Emby app. It all looked very straight forward and simple to understand. The data was accepted and the guide populates but does not list channel 45. This and channel 202 (which is the sister channel to 45) are the only channels that are not populating. If you can think of anything I have missed let me know, I'm stumped. Thanks in advance.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Hi, What stations are 45 and 202? It could be they aren't part of your local guide for some reason. Often times you can load a different postal code which will have them listed and then you use that zipcode for the 2 problem channels.
Michael1952 1 Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Hi Cayars, Thanks for the input, Those are both fox news. But I have a question what are DRM channels. I seem to have both HD and DRM channels in my lineup. The HD channles work (in the HDHomerun app) and the DRM channels don't work. Hmmmm. Of corse that has nothing to do with the fact that channels 45 and 202 do not apear in the Emby lineup and they are the only 2 that don't.. By the way they do apear in the lineup in the HDHomerun app.The whole thing is just weird! Thanks again for your input and if you have anyting to add it will be appreciated.
Michael1952 1 Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Hi guys, I just got off the phone with Spectrum and it seems like my tunner adapter is not inializing for some reason. They are sending out a replacement for it. I don;t think that has any bearing on the channel line up question though. What do you think?
Michael1952 1 Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM; mondiale being Italian and French for "worldwide") is a set of digital audio broadcasting technologies designed to work over the bands currently used for analogue radio broadcasting including AM broadcasting, particularly shortwave, and FM broadcasting. I found this online. Now the question is why is a DRM signal showing up in my HDHomerun HD TV channel lineup?

OK Fox News will be easy to pickup from another postal code or another provider. You can try Verizon or Comcast cable for example which likely will have Fox News. Then just map only those two channels with the alternate lineup. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management and these are encrypted channels that will not be usable in Emby. Typically Stars, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime will have DRM. Some cable providers use DRM on other channels as well.
Luke 42085 Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Has this answered your questions, or are you still having an issue?
Michael1952 1 Posted March 29, 2021 Author Posted March 29, 2021 Hi Luke, I have a Spectrum tech coming out today to check my problem. I'll know more after that and let you guys know one way or the other. Thanks and sorry about not following up. 1
Michael1952 1 Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 Hi all, Well the Spectrum tech got the HD Homerun Prime 3 working with the tunning adapter but I still can't get most of the channels that I pay for because they are DRM channles. I have to work on Spectrum to rectify this problem. I should get what I pay for I think. As far as the problem with channel 45 and 202, Fox News Channel, It still dosen't show up in the channel line up for some reason. Still working on that problem. I will post my results here when I have something to tell you. Thanks to all that have given me pointers. You have been a great help. M.
Carlo 4561 Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 The Fox News channel guide can be solved by adding a different guide in the same time zone. Nothing that can be done with the DRM channels directly from the Prime. You can try checking to see if any of these DRM files are available via TVEverywhere https://www.wtve.net/ (requires cable login) If so there is a way to pull down all of these channels and use them in Emby but it's not free and will cost roughly $7.50ish per month. But it will be like adding another tuner so you can watch/record more content as well.
