Sirnubsalot 0 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 (edited) Edit: I just noticed my screenshots are a little more compressed than I intended. I can upload new ones if it is difficult to get my issue across the way they are. Hi here! I am having issues getting my music to sort the way it should. First of all, my music is all at the root of a drive on my computer and it's organized by Genre/Artist (Year) - Album/musicfiles And this is how Emby displays my root directory. All 24 folders are there, not in order and many are named just after a song or artist. If I try to open one of the messed up folders, it gives me a wild block of text and no organization of my albums at all. This is what my genre subfolder Audiobooks looks like on my computer: This is what it looks like when I open it in Emby: Furthermore, when I open a genre folder that IS listed correctly at the top of the directory, it will not organize by folder (which I would assume would be the band name first, since that's how I have my folders labeled on my computer), it's sorting them first by album title, which doesn't work for me. For example, in Emby, METAL - Death Metal : Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix this, or is this just how it is? Honestly my music is the only real reason I want to use Emby. Otherwise the program is fantastic and I've been enjoying it a lot more than Plex. Thanks for any help and keep up the good work! Edited March 24, 2021 by Sirnubsalot

ebr 16195 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Hi. I don't believe that structure falls into any of our supported conventions but, if your music is all properly tagged, this should work much better for you in the next release of the server.
Sirnubsalot 0 Posted March 24, 2021 Author Posted March 24, 2021 It seemed like that might have been the case when I read that page. Thanks, I'll have to check back with the next server release.
