blackboxgeeks 0 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 I have Both the old version of MacGyver and the new remake and I have both in different folders in my TV folder but Emby keeps putting both in to the same show. I've renamed the files to match your guild but does not help. Any ideas as how to fix?
ebr 16195 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Hi. Please provide details on a specific example including the file structure you are using. What is the source of these files? How are they getting added to your system?
Guest Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 (edited) You can try to embed the IMDb number in each file.. ( Batch Metadata Editing is available in some programs such as MetaX) and try the Identify option in Emby.. IF there is any difference in the show name try to indicate it in the filenaming you are using.. FOLDER: TV\Show\Season FILE: Show S01E01 - Name of Episode .. should work Edited March 24, 2021 by Guest
Neminem 1524 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Rename your folders to "MacGyver (2016)" and "MacGyver (1985)" 1
Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Sounds like you have "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" enabled on the library also. So Emby identifies both series the same then merges them. If you don't do this with Series I would disable this feature on the library. But yes applying year to the series folder for all same named series is beneficial.
