When selecting this link, it goes to a new page, with the sidebar of options, but not the normal preferences options, just blank page. Tried on browsers Chrome in Windows 10, and android, as well as android app. in local network and remote

I thought that would take me to something that wasn't preferences. Normally when you click on a setting everything to adjust is in the middle of the screen. I guess I might just recommend making "preferences home page" with links to those subpages instead of a blank screen,

So another page would not be any different. But sound like you want it to default to the Drawer view with the first option selected. List of options vs directly to first option
