DanielFrank 11 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 (edited) Hello! I've been enjoying Emby for quite a while now - maybe a few years. I switched from Plex due to it's lowsy transcoding, and I've never experienced any major issues with Emby so far. But today, after a break from Emby and home streaming, I fired up Emby Server yet again, updated to the latest version (portable, I should mention), and I encountered a very weired problem. After starting a movie, it pauses after a few seconds. This seems to be happening only in the browser, not in Emby Theater. The console log says the following when the problem occurs: Quote hls.min.js?v=4.5.4.0:1 GET http://localhost:8096/emby/videos/69/hls1/main/4.ts?HIDDENFORSECURITYREASONS&VideoCodec=h264&AudioCodec=mp3,aac&VideoBitrate=139616000&AudioBitrate=384000&AudioStreamIndex=1&SubtitleStreamIndex=2&SubtitleMethod=Hls&TranscodingMaxAudioChannels=2&SegmentContainer=ts&MinSegments=1&BreakOnNonKeyFrames=True&ManifestSubtitles=vtt&h264-profile=high,main,baseline,constrainedbaseline,high10&h264-level=52&TranscodeReasons=AudioCodecNotSupported 500 (Internal Server Error) Can anyone help me figuring out a solution? embyserver.txt Edited March 20, 2021 by DanielFrank

Luke 42078 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Hi there, can you please attach the ffmpeg log from this example as well? Thanks.
DanielFrank 11 Posted March 25, 2021 Author Posted March 25, 2021 Here's a fresh log, where the problem has just occured. ffmpeg-remux-de87c2aa-2ef1-4afb-b4fa-42a91c6f073f_1.txt
Carlo 4561 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Could you try something for me to see if it makes a difference? Turn off (disable) "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" from the Transcoding menu. Try that same file again after making this change.

Didn't seem to have any influence, but here's the logs. ffmpeg-remux-de87c2aa-2ef1-4afb-b4fa-42a91c6f073f_1.txt embyserver.txt
Carlo 4561 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Hmm, the subs are still being written just like in the first file. Can you restart Emby Server and try this again?

Carlo 4561 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Are you playing back with subtitles turned on? Can you take a screen shot of the bottom of the movie detail screen showing the file specs? Do you get an error with only this movie or does it happen with multiple movies? I ask because it could be a corrupted file.

Carlo 4561 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Thanks, now the other question. Do you get an error with only this movie or does it happen with multiple movies?

Carlo 4561 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 See if you notice a pattern between the files. Are they all remuxing for example? Any particular codec the same, etc... Are these files you have converted or did someone else do the conversions? If you want to upload one of these files somewhere that I can pull down I can take a look at it and also use it to test with on my system to see if I can reproduce your problem.

Wouldn't it be easier if I gave you access to my Emby, so you could take a direct look? I'm going to DM you some credentials in advance.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 If you like to do that I can try and test that way. Just give me few titles to playback. PS give me download access and I can pull down any media to test with locally as well.
Luke 42078 Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Did you find anything? Are you still having an issue with this?

Carlo 4561 Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 I need to know some specific media to test. Can you give me a title or two?

Carlo 4561 Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 OK thank you. Will take a look in a few minutes.
Luke 42078 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Hi there, are you still having an issue with this?
DanielFrank 11 Posted April 3, 2021 Author Posted April 3, 2021 35 minutes ago, Luke said: Hi there, are you still having an issue with this? Yes, but I think cayars is about to check out my Emby Server soon.
Carlo 4561 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 So first test was a direct play that played back perfectly for 25 minutes. Now starting a test with a DTS only movie that will force transcoding to Chrome.
DanielFrank 11 Posted April 4, 2021 Author Posted April 4, 2021 Just a quick public note: It seems that it it not the media, that is causing the problem, since both me and cayars can watch movies now when logged in to the server via my public IP. The issue only occurs when logging in to Emby via localhost, or the local IP, from the browser. Which is odd, because I've never had that problem before. Whenever I'm logging in via localhost og local IP, some medias won't start.
