skeem2021 0 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Ole Skeem sørensen I have set up an Emby server which runs fine on the dynamic IP on my home network, but if I try to contact the server from outside on port 8096 it is not possible to connect to it. My internet connection is mobile broadband and my router is called Huawei B-593. I've tried pretty much every option and I'm pretty sure the router is set up correctly. My internet provider tells me that the problem is generally with servers set up to run mobile broadband and that the only secure solution is, a static IP address connected by fiber or cable connection. I am happy with the opportunities a mobile broadband offers and it is also the cheapest solution. Has anyone in this forum solved my problem in any other way? Emby forum spørgsmål på engelsk.pdf
Guest Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) EDIT: I am tired I could have really all of that and said there is no ip to bind to.. to tell the domain what the ip is for your server. Edited March 17, 2021 by Guest
Luke 42083 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Hi there, are you still having an issue with this? I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks !
Carlo 4561 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 The likely cause is that you don't have a routable IP on the Internet as your Mobile ISP is most likely using cgNAT. If you do a tracert from a PC using the mobile ISP to 8.8.8.8 does the 2 to 4th response line start with 172, 192 or 10?
