CarolineK 0 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) Example: I have created a collection of Humphrey Bogart movies last week. Today i realized that I was missing one movie. I ripped it and placed it in my general movies library where it was scanned and picked up. Now my question is: do i have to manually add this new movie to my Bogart collection? It seems like I will have to. Edited March 17, 2021 by CarolineK

Solution Guest Posted March 17, 2021 Solution Posted March 17, 2021 If you have have Emby monitoring the folder in Library settings, it should show up.. If not when it does a scheduled scan or you do a manual it should add the movie.

A guess would be yes as Bogart Collection is not a franchise Boxset listed on TMDB, correct? Emby only automatically added items to Collections when there is a matching TMDBCollectionid. CarolineK 0 Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) Ok, let me make a backstep here. When i first setup emby, I couldnt figure out how to prevent collections from forming so I simply deleted all of the auto generated collections. Now, starting wth a clean slate, I've hand selecting and creating collections that I want. I just did a manual scan of the Bogart collection and it didnt show up I was hoping that the scanner would scan the metadata and see that it has Bogart in it and then drop it in the Bogart collection Edited March 17, 2021 by CarolineK
Happy2Play 9785 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 You said the item was imported into Emby and displays in the Library, correct? Emby will not automatically add a item to a Collection if there is not matching TMDBCollectionid. This is a custom collection and the item has to be manually added to said collection. 1
CarolineK 0 Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 Quote Happy, Yes, I dropped the file in my "movie" folder and it was eventually picked up and scrapped. Thanks for the answer regarding the TMDBcollectionid. oh well. Im still switching to Emby from plex
Happy2Play 9785 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Welcome, there is no way for Emby to know what media you want in a collection as Emby does not uses folder base to make said collection. You will see them that way if you were to use the folders tab if that is how you have your media. Overall Movies are presented in a flat view no matter your media organization. Then there is the "Group items into collections" for all items that are a part of a collection made via Emby or Autobox set plug (depreciated in 4.6 as it is built into server), The plugin built franchise boxset are based off of TMDBCollectionid received from TMDB.
Guest Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I would look in one more place... Some times a movie with a similar name, filename, or in a similar folder will add itself to another movie's versions.. You have to scroll down where the ID links for online sources are at the bottom of each movie and see if the there is a 'Split Versions Apart' link.. I should be visible at the top where the Video and Audio track information is located as well... I have only had one movie not show up before.. and I never found it.. still curious but I have done a lot since then and have restructured that share.. something on my list...
