DaddyZug 0 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Hi, I'm using emby premium and I'm happy with this software. I mostly use for organising my home videos and I'm trying to achieve 2 things: - Write the metadata into a file stored together with the media - Define a cool artwork to use as preview on the gallery. I enabled: "Metadata savers: nfo" and "Save artwork into media folders" and "Save thumbnail images into media folders" I'm not sure about the difference between artwork and thumbnail, but anyhow I would expect a nfo file on the root of my library, but I don't see it. (i refreshed the metata I couple of times already) can someone give me some direction?
Guest Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 I think ( could be wrong ) that you would need to start in 'Folder' view, and probably enter metadata and images there. If not I think a "folder.jpg" at the main folder would probably work to show up in Emby as well, Not for sure anout .nfo or .xml files ( I don't use that method on my server )
DaddyZug 0 Posted March 14, 2021 Author Posted March 14, 2021 yes, folder is exactly what I'm using right now. library_root/Summer2020/Spain I'like to have a cover.png and a nfo for the folder "Summer2020" and one for the Spain subfolder.
Guest Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) try naming it to folder.ext ... not for sure about png.. I haven't used that.. Messing with my STRM files I noticed that a folder.jpg.. replaced/overwrote the Primary I had indicated for a file.. so this should work easily for the main folder.. Seems like an NFO would be written for meta written in Emby for the folder. Edited March 15, 2021 by Guest
Luke 42079 Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 That looks like it should be fine. Did you try it out?
