Switch a music album to audiobook in metadata ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm a new user of Emby premiere and I have trouble using my audiobooks in this program.

Even if there's a "resume audio" part in the screen option, my progress doesn't appear in the resume fonction.

I think that's because my audiobooks are in the music part and thus tagged as music ; so I tried to switch my books to an audiobook library by creating a new library but when I configure the folder as an audio book library, the items in it are still (i think) being shown as audio albums (maybe because it is still like that in the cache ?)

So questions  :

Is it really the problem ? Do I have to switch my books from audio albums to books ? If so how do I do it ?

Thank you

Hi, there's no way to do this from within the library. It has to be set at the top of the library using the content type option. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

It is impossible to do this from the top of the library with the content type as it says that I have to erase and redo the library.

But if I do that and create an audio book library, the imported items are still considered as music items as they were first introduced in the library as such...

Anyway, I read on the forums that the audio books resume fonction is not working on folder structure so I decided to cancel my premiere subscription and will wait for a better integration of audio book. Right now it is too complicated.

Have a good day.

It works quite well now.  In the audiobooks type library set your resume from 5% to 1% and consider it finished from 90% to 100%.  It does show up under Continue Listening section.  It doesn't support m4b chapters.  You can download onto your phone locally.  If you want to use emby as an audiobook serverand just download the m4b audiobooks to a better audiobook player just do that via a browser.  I suggest deleting all metadata from audiobooks and just navigate it via folders.

There's lots of audiobook related development currently going on.
