sjkiss 28 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Hi there: It would be helpful to have a way to customize the browsing tree the DLNA server presents. Attached are two screenshots from my HEOS app. The first is from the Emby Media Server's Album Artist index. I also run an Asset UpnP (https://www.dbpoweramp.com/asset-upnp-dlna.htm) server on the same NAS indexing the same volumes, but it allows me to customize the browsing tree. The second image is from that interface. Note that I can set up an ABC, DEF, GHI, tree to get to artists more quickly. It's extremely helpful for accessing the music in a convenient way through the HEOS. I assume this might be a problem for others accessing music on an NAS. I should say, Emby is close to resolving this be being able to cast music through the Emby Mobile or Web interface directly to DLNA devices but *it does not work very well*. Somewhere there is thread about that, but I can't locate it. Thank you! s
Luke 42079 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Hi, more options are possible for the future. thanks.
rbjtech 5284 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 (edited) Err.. casting to my Denon via DLNA works perfectly from the Emby app on my mobile - or any other Emby app/web client on that broadcast network. It even turns the AVR on remotely, displays the Song title on the front display etc - Full functionality as far as I can tell ... imo - the Denon HEOS App is horrendous, other than the initial AVR/Zone setup - I not sure why you would be using that as there are so many better alternatives - emby being one of them. Yea, that would be nice, but it isn't possible to cast to a Receivers zones. You can only cast to the main zone. 1

First improvement IMO is to allow access to the music from the first view. Right now I have to go to Browse Folders\Music first before I can even get to the Album Artists view.

But I don't think the OP is concerned with 'Zones' they just want to cast music presumably from emby (lol) and that works just fine.
