Adam_Kearn 1 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 I run my emby server from a Raspberry Pi. The other day I had an issue with it not booting and had to reinstall my OS. I thought I had the backup plugin setup but as it turns out I didn't. (I have made sure this is setup on my new server now) I was wondering if I would be possable to import the old watched history from my old server? I can see some .db files located in /var/lib/emby but not sure how to import them back into my new server. As the old server is dead I can't use the backup plugin but I do still have the files as I used a new SD card on the new build. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 How many users did you have on your old system? Are the library paths the same for the old and new system?

I had about 7 users. I am using an external HDD that I have mounted to /mnt/hdd (this should be the same as before). But I will see if I can find the log file to make sure on my old SD card.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 If you paths are going to be the same I'd try this. Install Emby, then shut down. Now copy the data and config folder from the old installation over to the new system. Start Emby and see what you get. You likely will have all your libraries, config and users. You will likely need to do a full scan to pull down and build your metadata and cache directories again (unless you can copy those as well). Can you give this a try?
Adam_Kearn 1 Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 @cayars I'll give that a go later tonight. I'll clone my SD card incase anything goes wrong. As I had to set it all up again from scratch I added the libarys to my new build. Should I delete these libarys before I copy the data accross or leave it as it is? Regards, Adam.
