It eventually sorted itself out but it’s just weird since it immediately saw a much larger movie file I had in a different “Movies” library on the same hard drive. 1
TheFreeMan 30 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 I'm pretty sure this is my fault, and I think that it's somewhere in the Next Gen config, but for the life of me I can't find it again. I get a message like this pretty regularly: I seem to recall having turned on an option to prompt to remove files that are no longer available, but I can't find where to turn that back off. When this comes up, there are dozens that it prompts me for, and it takes 2 clicks per ("remove" & "yes really") IIRC. Usually, when this comes up, I just reboot because I don't want to spend 20 minutes going through them all. Where do I turn this off???
Trapperjohn61 24 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 (edited) Hi, it is an option in kodi system, media, library. You need to be expert, or advances bottom left to see clean library. You might want to do that and also reset Emby database, Emby plugin, configure, perform local database reset. Then after done you can add your libraries back in the plugin and should be good to go. If you select it, Kodi assumes the sources are empty (even they actually links and required for the plugin). I think in some way triggered that. Important info, if you enabled "Enable FILE delete on Kodi events" in the plugin as well (default is off), don't confirm (the second popup) -> delete from Emby server! I could really delete the file from the server. Library ops (from Kodi) should not be used, the plugin handles the libraries from the plugin config menu. Edited February 6, 2025 by quickmic

Definitely have not run Kodi's "clean library" manually, but it seems to be running it automatically. 19 hours ago, quickmic said: Important info, if you enabled "Enable FILE delete on Kodi events" in the plugin as well (default is off) I do not have "Enable FILE delete on Kodi events" turn on.
Trapperjohn61 24 Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Have you tried doing a local database reset in menu plugin? it only clears database on device you ar rising not your server database. Then you will be able to rebuild it back on the device that holds Emby plugin.
quickmic 1703 Posted February 6, 2025 Author Posted February 6, 2025 (edited) If a reset does not help, I might need a kodi.log for review. Probably a debug mode log, but let's start with a regular one. Edited February 6, 2025 by quickmic
TheFreeMan 30 Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Did the Local DB Reset, then added my libraries back in. I'll keep an eye on it to see if I get those messages popping up again. If so, I'll post a log. 1 1
NorthDegree 10 Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 Just installed Emby for Kodi Next Gen 11.1.21 (from category services since did not install from the video add-on section). Everything seems to be working fine, only minor issue is I am getting this pop up on initial Kodi launch “kodi companion addon not installed on emby server” Is the addon necessary? And how do I install the addon if yes

NorthDegree 10 Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Tx Quickmic, emby server Addon working is good. out of curiosity, this might be a kodi limitation or emby kodi add on limitation, my chapters are working fine but I noticed there is no “video timeline scrubber” I assume not a option? 1

Do you mean the timeline (chapter) markers or timelines scrubber like in Emby's WebUI? First case -> depends Second case, no -> Kodi has not implemented that and I've never seen that custom skins as well Edited February 12, 2025 by quickmic

I know I need to provide a log. I don't have SSH enabled at the moment. Can I grab the log after a power-button reboot, or do I need to enable SSH after the reboot then wait for it to happen again and grab the log that way, or is there an even better way of getting the log off the box & posting it?

OK, it popped up again. I'm not finding a kodi.old.log. Instead (since I'm running on LibrELEC), I've got a zip file of the logs that seems to contain the one before I shut it down. The other files in the zip are: system.log, hardware.log, audio.log, network.log, varlog.log, input.log, filesystem.log and journal-curl.log - any of those necessary for your investigation? Do you want just the Kodi.log file? It's ~73MB. After a quick scan doesn't appear that there's any identifying info in it other than the file names I've watched. Safe to post it here, or do it in a direct message?
quickmic 1703 Posted February 24, 2025 Author Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) Please send it via direct message, thanks. btw, libreelec logs are located in /storage/storage/.kodi/temp/ but I think the zip includes everything. Edited February 24, 2025 by quickmic
