No need, for removal you can simple update the repos and plugins (which should be triggered automatically after repo update).

I should also mention the repository zip I have for Emby is beta 1.0.11 is that the latest version?

Yes, it is. btw, sometimes Kodi is not the fastest detecting updates.

how long from your experience would you say would be the longest before an update is detected with kodi used everyday?

I don't know, you can force it by reinstalling the repo addon. That's usually what I do, when I'm bored to wait.

glad to know reinstalling it is totally fine. 
unused to used the update option on the addon menu but usually did it show new.

yes that is how I feel too 

I see new options in the new Emby version. I am not sure if the wiki is updated but do you have a place the explains what each one does including new ones that are added or: enable start sync, and I know this has been there  idea reset if that helps at all with sync content. I also see very interesting option added duplicate content which I have seen from time to time on my sons kodi which usually I remove the library and add it back or do a repair libraries. Would be interesting to know more.

I added help texts in Kodi for each option. I think the wiki is completely outdated. There is also an FAQ thread, which also needs tlc.

The default settings are usually good and no need to change. Actually the reason why you see all that is, cause you switched to expert mode in Kodi. Default is basic, and most options are hidden there.

"Enable start sync" should be always on. It was edge case user request to disable that. Nobody needs that.

De-Duplication is a new feature and was also a user request. A user has multiple Emby servers connected to the plugin and the servers provided the same content. As a result, lots of content had doubles. This function removes the doubles from Kodi. It can also be used on a single server connection, when multiple libraries provides similar content.

fyi when I go into kodi setting in plugin I do not see any donation about each setting just the option to choose if or in  or it opens another menu so I do not se more info fyi I have it set to experienced and tried advanced still no info. I am using the aeon nox Silvio skin 21.1

orher question I always wondered why the setting "enable new content" is always default no. I would think most people would be adding to their library and would like kodi to show the new content too. I know it can be switched on .

I don't know how this skin shows the additional info. My skin shows the (blue) text.

Enable new content could lead into endless notification messages. Imagine you add hundreds or even thousands of new content items at once. Therefore disabled by default.

Oh ok curious are all the settings showing more info 

which skin are you using so I can at least switch to it to see the info. 
 

that is a very good point that would be a lot .  Very happy knowing there was a logical reason since I have been using Emby for years!!

I'm getting update notices even though I believe I have them turned off. Am I looking at the wrong setting(s) or is this a bug?

These settings are from the "base" Emby for Kodi Next Gen Add-on, not from the "(Video)" or "(Audio)" versions (though I understand that they just link back here).

I'm running Emby 4.8.10.0 if that matters

Did close the config by pressing "OK" on not simply used the back button. Only OK saves the settings.

The weird thing is, though, that I turned off "Enable new content" and when I went back in to check on it, I'd swear that it was still turned off!

It sounds like to me the skin you are using may not have an ok but a checkmark which is the same as ok.

i think a picture of the screen showing the options when you just choose configure on the Emby plugin it would be clearer to see the equivalent of your skin for the ok option.

Hey all! I'm new to Emby and fairly inexperienced with media server programs in general. I just got a Ugoos amb6+ box and installed Emby Next Gen on it (on top of CoreElec/Kodi). I'm wondering if there are any essential settings I should be toggling for the best possible experience?

 

Right now I just have two libraries on my server with a very small amount of files. One issue I'm running into is that my folder with tv shows isn't seeing a new file I put into it. I've restarted the server, re-synced the library, re-added the library, etc but it just wont show the file. Plex is actually doing the same thing but this is a typical file so not sure what might be going on. Any suggestions?

I have been on the fence about the Ugoos amb6+ did you have to install CoreElec? and if you did how hard is the process.

Mostly really easy but a few points of confusion and frustration. I followed a guide on the CoreElec forums and got 90% of the way there on my own. There’s a good subreddit and AVS thread that also helped. 
 

My use case is just for a small library to play mainly 4k remux files. My Apple TV 4K was having sound sync issues and doesn’t properly play all DV formats and in the few hours I’ve used the Ugoos it’s been mostly great so far. 
 

Just trying to get Emby for Kodi/Emby next gen (are these different things??) configured so that I get the best and smoothest audio and video quality playback as possible now.

Hard to say, does a library repair on Kodi (next gen config -> manage libraries) catch up the file?
