WinterServer 0 Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 (edited) Hello, I have Emby setup on a M3U list that does Video and Audio in MPEGTS. In the morning I’d like to listen to the audio only of one of the streams. I have a audio system that can take a M3U pointing to a MP3 stream. Would it be possible to have Emby transcode once a certain pre created on site M3U is accessed and start transcoding (probably just ripping out the video) to provide an MP3 M3U? Thanks! WinterServer 0 Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 Awesome. How can I derive one from a particular LiveTV channel? Also if possible it doesn’t do extra cpu cycles unless someone connects to it. thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 derive one? They won't display any differently in the user interface. I just mean that we support playing them.
WinterServer 0 Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 Let me look a bit more. I was just hoping I can do the following. Have a M3U file with just a MP3 stream ready from the url: http://path-to-local-Emby-server/LocalNewsAVChannel.M3U With this I can give it to my niles audio system. By derive I meant to say there isn’t a constant transcode of that one channel. It only starts the transcode once the URL/file is requested. thanks.
WinterServer 0 Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 The Live channel is audio and video combined. I would like an on demand link of a .m3u containing only a MP3 stream of that audio/video stream. Like now you have it transcoding down to 144p, what about a audio only selection?
Luke 42078 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Right the whole live tv feature is primary geared towards video but also supports audio only channels. So yes that type of a small enhancement is possible for future updates. thanks.
