Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Hello Com, is there a way that i can setup a time to look for new media files on the watched folder from AutoOrganize or when the file is writen that AO dont move the file, only when the file is ready should AO move. The files are on mashine 1 (Linux), emby runs on mashine 2 (Win Server, only runs when is needed for watching Content). But sometimes when both system runs, i have some problems. So when the file is writen on mashine 1 but not finished AO picked the new file up and moved it to mashine to in the final destination. So the file is has not the same size as the original, because AO start his operation to early. So what can i do or is there a way to add more options to prevent it for this setup ? AO should move then, when no other application is worked with the file. Settings for Task Planer ? That i can set a higher interval to search for new files ? only move files when a xml is there to for the file ? Greet's, Newcomer
Luke 42080 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Quote only when the file is ready should AO move. Hi, there is no way to automatically detect this, so i would just take a look at the schedule for the auto-organize scheduled task and adjust it to whatever works best for you. 1
GrimReaper 4740 Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Or delete Scheduled Task alltogether and run it manually whenever you see fit? Out of curiosity, what creates those files on system 1?
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 In the Windows mashine IT works fine. When Dvbviewer is recording so cant move the file until Dvbviewer is finished with recording. It seems Windows or blocked the file until Dvbviewer is finished. But under Linux it seems this didnt work. So i have to change the Task Timer for ao. Or there is a setting under linux that reserve the file exclusive to only one program. And when the program did not longer work with this File another program can work with it.
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 The Task for the ao is "organize new Media Files " ?
GrimReaper 4740 Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Just now, Kodi_Newcomer said: The Task for the ao is "organize new Media Files " ? Yes. 1
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 Maybe a new Feature. Write Detektion. When ao see new Media File, he should check if the file is not finished, there are actual write process and the file grows up. He check so long until no Changes on the file is detecded, write access or size grow, i setting with time interval. After this ao grabs the file ?i dont know. Under Windows it seems to work. When for example Dvbviewer is write the file because he is recording actual ao cant move it. Until the record is finished IT works for ao to move the file. But why not on Linux ? Ao can grab and move the file at the same time another program writes the file.
