Download always shared across all users

So let's say i have 2 users :

User A : Download enabled

User B : Download disabled

 

Whenever user A is downloading,

on user B which is my android phone,

emby app would pop up download notification progress, this is a problem because my cellular data is not unlimited

I have checked and user B should have download disabled. Is this a known bug?

Hi, i guess you could argue this either way. On the one hand there's your situation, on the other hand you could be an admin wanting to handle the downloads manually for your children and not expose the download buttons to them in the user interface.

Have you explored the options in the android app to control when downloads occur?

Yes i did try to disable it on android but i'm not seeing any disabling options, only 

- download location

- music download quality

- download only over wifi > even if i enables this, there's still gonna be issue where the downloaded movies would fill up my android storage when i'm on wifi.

Ideally there should be an option to disable download on android client

User A needs download to be enabled Luke.

Shouldn't disabling user B download disable download on my android since i'm logged in as user B ?

This part needs to be fixed i think?

No, because i just gave you a use case where that would be needed a couple responses ago.

For now, the advice I've given is your best/only option. In the upcoming Emby Server 4.6 release, if you disable a user's permission to remote control other devices, then they won't be able to send downloads to them. So once that is released, that will be your best bet.
