Eddie 12 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 I have emby setup on a Manjaro KDE host running as a docker container emby: image: linuxserver/emby container_name: emby environment: - PUID=1000 - PGID=1000 - TZ=America/New_York volumes: - /media/username/nfsset/containers/emby/config:/config - /media/username/smbshare:/media/username/smbshare ports: - 8096:8096 - 8920:8920 #optional devices: - /dev/dri:/dev/dri #optional restart: unless-stopped I have been using the Emby Backup for years and its worked great and it recently stopped backing up my config I thought it was a permissions issue BUT its able to actually write the directory Emby Backup - 2021-02-22 00.10.0 - Auto and inside the directory its able to write the .txt file profile.txt however the file size is 0 bytes If this was a permissions issues why could it write a blank file? Is there something else going on? embyserver.txt
Q-Droid 989 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 You have multiple instances of errors in the server log pointing to access problems on /media/username/smbshare - backups, recording and scanning (ffprobe). So it's either permissions, SMB config or both. The user with UID 1000 needs full access to /media/username/smbshare if you're reading, writing, creating and deleting.
