Emby hates some of my artists and genres (or, Emby is not saving particular pieces of metadata in a Music Videos library)

I'm trying to organize my music videos but Emby is singling out particular pieces of metadata and not saving them.

For example, if I note the artist as X Japan or The Shangri-Las in the metadata editor, save and exit, they'll be no artist under the thumbnail and upon re-entering the field will be blank. This only occurs for some artists and is consistent on which artsits it applies to. If I name the artist X Japan. (a dot following the name) it saves, if I then change it back to X Japan, the field goes blank again.

The same is also true for specific genres and tags, it will not save Hip Hop as a genre, but other genres are fine.

I used to have another Emby library before moving my server and starting from scratch many months ago, is this a cache problem or something related? The only thing I can think of is it has a memory of my past, incomplete music video library.and is refusing to save anything that has a matching artist, genre etc.

Or, does Emby hate X Japan and Hip Hop?

Hi, are you sure you're actually clicking save after adding the genre?

Yes because it saves all the other metadata and this has been test numerous times on empty NFO files, it selectively chooses what to save.

No I am not seeing a issue of adding information and it not being saved/showing (Artists, Genres, Tags).
