Paulshelling 9 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 When I click on a song and it displays the name of the what's playing it shows ARTIST - ALBUM, with the song name underneath next to the year. I can provide a number of arguments as to why this doesn't make sense. Unless i'm mistaken, the hypen has always historically been used in this context to denote ARTIST - SONG. It''s a culturally and historically understood piece of grammar that this breaks. The song title is far more important and contextually relevant than the album and should have priority. It's clear it does not have priority as it's relegated to the second line, in a smaller and darker font. If you're going to choose to make the album a priority over the song title, at least keep it consistent, the TVOS app should be a screen full of album titles under each thumbnail. Not all songs have albums, all songs have names. Songs have appeared on multiple albums, songs only have one name. The metadata of the year, which is rightfully moved to the second line, should have the album title as it's metadata companion on the same line, as is usually the case. The release date metadata is more commonly associated with the album itself, as opposed to the song. Please reconsider the display of this metadata, it doesn't make sense on multiple fronts.
