Marcus67 1 Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 Hi, a noob question: I saw that I can update my Metadat manually. I also saw there are fields to enter the ID of movie databases. I tried for example to update this: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0244353/ cause I couldnt identify the film via the standard functions. So I entered the ID (tt0244353) into the field of IMDb and expected that emby would download movie data and actors. Suprisingly, nothing happened. When I click on the link symbol near the input field it opens thecorrect website. What I am doing wrong? Thanks, Marcus
ebr 16195 Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 Hi. We don't access IMDb directly but can use those IDs to find things on other sites (like tmdb). If the normal identify didn't work then that probably means it doesn't exist on the providers you have enabled. What providers do you have enabled on that library?
Marcus67 1 Posted February 23, 2021 Author Posted February 23, 2021 Hi - thank you for your fast reply. I checked an activated the recommended libraries. It worked for the film now, although I get a wrong entry when I call the DB directly (seems ID 5256 has been give twice). But thats ok and no Emby Issue, you solved my issue - many thanks.
Happy2Play 9784 Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 The issue here is the media is a Mini-Series. So the TMDB id is for TV not Movie. The queries are specific but as you mentioned the id is reused on both /tv and /movie sides of their database. TV library can only query TV and Movie libraries can only query Movie, So in this cause you would be dependent on OMDB, https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/5256 https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/5256
