glenda8 0 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Whenever I try to connect to my server on a different device like my laptop I get this message Connection Failure. I can not for the life of me figure out why I connected it using Emby connect and confirmed my email and all that but I still run into this problem it is driving me crazy.So can anyone please help?

pwhodges 2012 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I presume from what you wrote that you are trying to access your server just within your home network. You should first debug access to your server without using Connect. Details and troubleshooting advice are provided in this article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity If you also want access from outside your home network, there is more to do. The first steps are spelt out in this article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup Once you have you system working, then you can think about whether it is even necessary for you to consider using Connect; it is never actually necessary.
