steveblair 14 Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 I'm not sure if this is a bug, feature request, or I'm missing a setting somewhere, but on the web app when I look at the "Next Up" section on a tv show, I see the specific title card images for each episode. On the Roku however, it uses the "thumb" image for the entire series. However, I can see the the title card images if I go into a particular season. Is it possible for the Roku to use the individual episode images in "Next Up"?
speechles 2055 Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Can you show us a picture of what you mean? When you say "Next up" do you mean on the detail view? Seeing a screen shot will help us know exactly what you mean. Thanks.
steveblair 14 Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Sure....here's what I see on the Roku vs what I see on the web
ebr 16169 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Okay, so, yes in the individual series view. We'll take care of that. Thanks. 1
speechles 2055 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I think that was done to prevent spoilers. Wasn't that why we did that? Might get complaints that shows are leaking graphics of upcoming episodes with that changed.

Personally I'd rather have the individual episode images, but perhaps a setting to allow a user to switch between the two?
speechles 2055 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) The example above is Buffy. Lots of characters die. Then in the screenshot of the next episode you know Angel doesn't die yet as he is in the screenshot. That is what I mean. It spoils episodes where a character might die. Then in the next screenshot of the upcoming episode there they are alive and well. It ruins the plot point. Same with sports. You can see the score of the game before you watch. Those need to not show the actual screen shot and instead the series poster. That is why it isn't showing them in Next Up. Continue watching is the new form of next up. I agree there should be some way to see the actual screenshots and not the parent even if does show spoilers. But you have to error on the side of caution. Edited February 16, 2021 by speechles
ebr 16169 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 We'll make it match the other app presentations.

I see what you're saying, and I don't actually mind the series thumb being used for "Continue Watching" on the home screen because you only see it once per show. But when you're in the individual tv series view, you end up seeing the same graphic over and over in "Next Up"....seems like a waste of screen real estate in that case. 5 minutes ago, ebr said: We'll make it match the other app presentations. Cool....I like the consistent approach
