wakeboarder141 40 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 I have noticed for the last couple of days that my TV and movie libraries are not updating automatically. If I initiate a new manual scan the new files show up fine. I let it sit overnight thinking maybe it needed more time, but neither library added the new content. I checked and both libraries have real time monitoring enabled. The only change I have made is I did move some of the folders around and had to change some of the file paths, but all of the files scanned in correctly after that. Is there something else I should check?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Please post a server log. Have verified Real time monitoring still enabled on the libraries?
wakeboarder141 40 Posted February 15, 2021 Author Posted February 15, 2021 Here is the log. I did verify that every library has enable real time monitoring checked. embyserver.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Since you are on Synology you have inotify errors blocking librarymonitor. System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The configured user limit (8192) on the number of inotify watches has been reached, or the operating system failed to allocate a required resource. You need to apply a script patch to your Synology. Real time monitoring seems broken - Page 9 - Emby Server - Emby Community

I am not totally clear on what this is changing, but is there a certain interval that this needs to be re-run to keep up on the problem? Should I schedule this to run at certain intervals? I don't know how often my NAS is going to be restarted, or how quickly the problem will appear. It seems odd that there isn't a more permanent fix.

I don't know if it was just the server restart that forced the update before, but it is back to not updating with new content. Attached is the task I created on my Synology that runs on boot and my log. embyserver.txt
wakeboarder141 40 Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Should I try continuing the thread on one of those previous Synology posts to see if anyone has any other ideas? Either I did something wrong, or this fix didn't work for me.
Carlo 4561 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Yes, because those threads will have people in them that know these settings well and can probably point you quickly in the the right direction.
