negativzeroe 80 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) So I use MKVToolnix to set me default tracks for my media and such, but can we have a way to allow a temporary cookie or something for just that session that will override this? So like if I have two English tracks and one has alternate music, I could be in the mood to binge that version of the show, and on loading the next episode, load the track that was selected on the previous episode (assuming they are muxed consistently through the show). Or alternatively watch the Japanese version of the show vs the English (subtitles on/off would also preferably be remembered). Edited February 11, 2021 by negativzeroe
Luke 42079 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Hi there, I would suggest setting your emby user audio and subtitle language preferences. Please let us know if this helps. thanks.
negativzeroe 80 Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 This helps if it's jpn/eng but not eng/eng. Like if a different music score was used like Dragon Ball Z.
negativzeroe 80 Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 @LukeTo clarify the request, if I have a TV show with 10 audio tracks and 10 subtitle tracks (For the sake of example, they are all my preferred language), and I actively choose audio 6, subtitle 4, the show continues playing with those preferences until the app is closed, or if it's easier to save those settings to the profile on the back-end where I would have to actively choose something else to change, that's cool too, whatever is most reasonable from a programming perspective. Does this request make sense?

I can understand the sentiment, but assuming you got all the episodes from the same source, it would be great to have an option. For example, the dragon ball z blu ray sets where they are all jpn/eng/eng. Track 2 has the original jpn music score, and track 3 has the Johnson/Falcouner score. Depending on my mood, I might watch either version in english (which negates the preferred language option that exists already), so the request might be instead to have something that can be toggled? And then at that point if you have inconsistent tracks you don't have to worry about it if the function is not turned on. To me it doesn't matter if it's a session thing, a saved preference to the profile, or even something library-wide. However is easiest to implement it. I would just like to watch a few episodes with the same audio track. If it resets on the next time or I have to manually change it doesn't bother me. Edited March 12, 2021 by negativzeroe
Luke 42079 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 There is an open feature request to have the remembering of tracks be tied to the series. I would suggest contributing to that. 1
