MarcusJ 18 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I think I just ran into a movie naming constraint that I didn't know existed, am I am just looking for confirmation and a brief explanation why. I have over 20 versions of a single movie. When I followed the multi-version naming guidelines it worked great...up to 8 versions. When I added the 9th version and re-scanned the library, emby no longer treated any of the 9 versions as a version at all, but rather listed all 9 of them as separate movies. Is there a limit of 8 versions of a single movie title that can be in the same folder and treated as versions? If so, why 8? Can this be expanded?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I will have to find the other topic, but yes there is a limit. 1
MarcusJ 18 Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 Thanks for the fast response. Do you know the reason? Is it a technical limit? Arbitrary? A judgement call? Are you aware of any plans to expand the number or allow it to be a configurable option?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I believe a judgement call, but still looking. But using the plugin would/should alleviate the issue. Automatic version grouping for movies - Plugins - Emby Community 1
Happy2Play 9785 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 FYI here is the previous topic. @MarcusJ https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/89807-movie-grouping-does-not-work-for-more-than-8-versions 1
