Hi there,

I am trying to install the server onto my Windows Server 2008 OS. But the installer refuses to start. I have tried both download options but get the same result. Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

Thanks,

Do you have .net 4.x installed? If not the logs for the installer and event log of the installation will be needed.

Hi Logos,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've installed .net 4.5.2 but still nothing. The installer isn't even starting so I don't know that there will be any event logs anywhere?

I start the same file on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines without any issues, just not on Sever 2008, but other installers work fine on the server.

Thank again for your help.

Ok, so in case anyone else has this issue it seemed I did not have C++ installed. But when clicking on the downloaded installer nothing happened. I kicked it into life by running it from the command line, that prompted windows to say I needed C++ installed and it installed it for me. After that it worked normally.

Thanks.
