Dedone 17 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Hi, I've try to convert a 4k H264 file in H265, but it downscale to 1080 and it also cut the bitrate from 4 to 2.8. I had use custom settings, hevc, Aac 4 mbps
Luke 42078 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Hi there, please attach the ffmepg conversion log. thanks.
Dedone 17 Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 Sure, it happen on the last one log conversions.pdf
Luke 42078 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Hi, can you please attach the log file in it's original plain text format, rather then pdf? Thanks.
Dedone 17 Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 here, sorry but i was with the phone... ffmpeg-transcode-2196b0f8-f473-4688-91ae-fffc96c0807f_1.txt
Luke 42078 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 When you select a quality of 4 mbps, it's 4 mbps total for the entire file, so the actual video bitrate will be less than that because you have the two audio tracks. One of those audio tracks is 640k, the other is 384k, so that sounds about right. So if you want the video stream bitrate to be 4 mbps, perhaps try entering 5 mbps instead. 1
Dedone 17 Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 So if I selecte 5 mbps it will also keep the 4k res? And I don't understand how can I detect wich mbps I must choose for future conversions.
Luke 42078 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I would just try it and experiment until you find the one that you want.
Dedone 17 Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 1 hour ago, Luke said: I would just try it and experiment until you find the one that you want. OK, because I've tried with 5mbps and it make me again at 1080 instead 4k
Luke 42078 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Can you provide a log example from that? Thanks.
Dedone 17 Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 Sure ffmpeg-transcode-e8c50e10-43cf-454f-9151-0ab802f270be_1.txt
Dedone 17 Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 this is the last conversion. I use 7 mbps and the result is the file with the same specs of the original and same size. It only make a 4k hevc file without any size reduction ffmpeg-remux-0af6a91f-aa62-498b-aa93-7abff0300c56_1.txt
Dedone 17 Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 I delete the file, but if you need i do it again. Just let me know what you need
Luke 42078 Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Ok I believe this issue should be improved for the next release. Thanks. 1
