Question about my user library permissions

I set up some IPTV stuff and set DVR to record. Celebrity Deathmatch looks like it started recording a bit late but that's cool, Cowboy Bebop is great, but Evangelion only recorded the first six minutes. Also according to Emby there are no recordings.

The KB says that post processing is mostly for people who do what they want with various scripts so I'm assuming for basic dvr functionality this isn't needed.

Hi, did you add padding to the recording? That might be why it started late.

Can you try removing the anime plugin? Please try doing that, then restarting the server and then creating another recording. Thanks.

That one I'm not too worried about because Cowboy Bebop started perfectly, so I'm thinking it was a delay in the stream or something. I've set a few to record and will report back but still not showing the already recorded ones.

So the records are good, but now that I'm thinking about it, that one that was cut short was really late at night and I noticed the logs start over new files each day, could be a bug there. I'll set something up for tonight and report back.

The recordings themselves still do not show in the gui though. They are .ts files and play through just browsing the files and opening in MPV. They just don't show up in emby.

That one recorded in the folder correctly, so I don't know what was up with that one movie. They still do not show up in recordings though.

You shouldn't have nested directories in your libraries. That might be part of the problem.

how many emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths did you add to each one?

I removed the movie and tv options and just have it under /mnt/media/dvr (even though there is the option) still no show. I have nine libraries including collections.

For my container I have:

    -v /mnt/media/audiobooks:/audiobooks \
    -v /mnt/media/tvshows:/tvshows \
    -v /mnt/media/movies:/movies \
    -v /mnt/media/music:/music \
    -v /mnt/media/nuggets:/nuggets \
    -v /mnt:/mnt \

I keep that last one in for odds and ends, I also have a "family photos" library, mounted to /mnt/nextcloud/......./dir just to have there, those show up, and DVR is at /mnt/media/dvr and is currently in a single folder.

I just made a volume for -v /mnt/media/dvr:/dvr but no change:

Try removing the library that points to just /mnt, then run a scan of all libraries and see if that helps.

That is a container mount point, and the nextcloud library works through it, but I've already made a new Mount point for /dvr as stated above so it becomes irrelevant.

So now that you've done that, what emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths did you add to each one?

Ok so my container is as such:

    -v /mnt/media/audiobooks:/audiobooks \
    -v /mnt/media/tvshows:/tvshows \
    -v /mnt/media/movies:/movies \
    -v /mnt/media/music:/music \
    -v /mnt/media/nuggets:/nuggets \
    -v /mnt/media/dvr:/dvr \
    -v /mnt:/mnt \

Those libraries are mapped to those directories:

Audiobooks is /audiobooks
TV is /tvshows
Movies is /movies
Music is /music
Recordings is /dvr

Collections is /config/data/collections (default)

I also have Family Photos mapped to: /mnt/nextcloud/data/__groupfolders/7
Just as a viewer for the same content.

I also jumped into the container for Emby and did ls -la:

Using the linuxserver.io image so it's abc:abc - so it's not a permissions issue and the container sees the data.

If you use the directory picker in emby on any of those folder options and click into the dvr folder, does it list the contents underneath?

Wouldn't it be simpler to use "-v /mnt/media:/media"? Then your library base is /media and adding new ones won't need container changes.

Yes. The container is fine, the permissions are fine. Emby sees the media everywhere but the recordings screen.

Yeah that makes sense, but changing it will force a full library scan so I am good for now lol.

can you show screenshots of library setup for each library so that we can see the folders added to each one? thanks.

Here are more supporting screenshots that show everything is set up correctly. I even went to add a folder, to show that it does in fact see the media. This has got to be an issue with the recordings tab not looking at the assigned location or something on that track.
