fraggelnostalgi 0 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I get 10+ second pauses every 5-10 seconds playing 1080p video using a Beebox i5-7200U with 16gb of ram to a LG 65 C7. The video is 7.5Mbps according to the LG Emby app stats Orbi mesh network reports about 500+ Mbps on both the Beebox and LG Everything has line of sight Beebox is reporting 3% CPU usage, 37% free memory Beebox sends 2Mbps over the network for a few seconds, then stops for 10-20 seconds Web based network bandwidth testing comes in at 120Mbps both ways I disabled subtitles (made no difference) I disabled hardware acceleration (made no difference) I limited the threads to 2 (made no difference) I changed the encoding preset to veryfast and increased the CRF to 26 (made no difference) What else can I try?
Solution fraggelnostalgi 0 Posted February 7, 2021 Author Solution Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) Damnit, I just noticed that the TV has a browser and web based bandwidth testing on it reports 1.5Mbps... weirdly, Netflix works with no issue and so does YouTube 4K videos (and mesh network monitor still reports 500+ on the TV wireless). Is LG throttling select apps? EDIT: Found a page saying that LG TVs from 2017 don’t like 5ghz channels above 50 (DFS?) but mine was set to 36, so still open for suggestions. SOLUTION: Pulling the power on the TV and restarting it fixed it... for now. Edited February 7, 2021 by fraggelnostalgi
