I apologize if this question has been answered, I spent about 30 minutes searching and there were over 900 pages of results on this forum alone.

Is there a plugin or native Emby functionality that would alert me if I am missing an episode?

A scheduled task I can run for example that would scan all TV shows in my library and let me know if I am missing any episodes?

AFAIK, in short: no. You might opt to "Display missing episodes within series" in Library, but you'll get no alerts. They'll also show amidst Upcoming episodes.

There's been a standalone statistics server in development which does/doesn't/does have said functionality, still in beta tho:

Or just use Sonarr.

Cheers

I am aware of the "Display missing episodes within series" however I was looking for  a plugin or script that I could run that would scan my library and give me a report.  I have migrating my entire library off a QNAP NAS to a new DrivePool system, and with all my BR discs, and external hard drives, I wanted to make sure I am not missing any content.

not used it but report plugin has a missing episodes filter

might need the above missing episodes within series enabled for it to work

That is what I needed!

So much easier then going folder by folder and visually checking them all!

Thank you!

Looks like I spoke to soon, I don't think the Missing Episode filter in the Reports Plugin actually works

For example:

It thinks all these Big Bang Theory episodes are missing, but they are showing in Emby just fine:

Season 4 Episode 8 and 10 are in Emby, but the the Report says they are missing?

did you run a lib scan after enabling missing episodes?

Yes I ran a Library Scan after enabling

then its a dev problem by the looks of it

Its not specific to Big Bang Theory

Its saying I have: 2871 missing episodes

Everyone I have checked so far has been false, the episodes are there and showing in Emby with correct name

I guess I will look at Sonarr as a solution then, as this Report Plugin clearly has bugs

None of the episodes in your screen shot above are showing with correct metadata...

So, they aren't identified as those episodes and, thus, Emby thinks they are missing.

@dcookYep as it should look like this.

Your image would appear to show a metadata issue.

Also what do you get when you click on missing episodes via the Report as there was/is a bug that causes virtual and actual episodes to be merged so you have to split the virtual and real episode apart.  But you can only see the merged items from the missing episode side not the real episode.

Hi,

I have used emby for a while and I just started an upgrade of my installation to automate the feed of emby.
I tried Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr and it is working well.

But I would like to check my library and add missing episodes automatically to Sonarr.

Is there a way to do that with the existing ?
If not, I was thinking about a sh script to do it but I will need help to know were I can find the "missing episodes" in the database of emby.

Thanks for your help

if sonarr is monitoring the same folders then sonarr knows what is missing. why do you need emby to tell it?

I tried it but Sonarr did not update its own database. It only shows me medias I add manually in Sonarr.
It did not scan the emby folder.

Maybe I miss something....

in sonarr under the Series header choose Library import and that should show you the path(s) you have configured in sonarr plus any unmapped folders. by clicking on the path sonarr should try to match what it finds on disk to shows it knows from tvdb. add all unmapped shows and sonarr should then know what you have and what is missing

Thanks I try it right now.

I use a docker for Sonarr. Is it risky to map emby folder to Sonarr ? risk of data corruption for example ?

no, sonarr should only read the files unless you explicitly tell it to do something like rename them or delete them. as long as it can access the path there should be no problems

Just to correct. I go on Series > add series > Import existing Series on Disk > Select Folder. After that you have to manually add each series on your disk
