Multiple Embedded Album art

Recommended Posts

Some of my audio files have a second (alternative) cover tagged to them. However, Emby seems to always look at the second one and extract that for the thumbnail, instead of the first one. Any way to make it extract the very first one? I use mp3ptag to tag my files.

Hi there, can you please provide a sample track for testing? thanks.

I tested this file and I'm seeing Emby show the same embedded image that I see when playing it in Vlc or Windows media player.

Actually not the case with me. VLC and iTunes on Windows 10 both show the first album cover of the song.

Emby defaults to the second/last cover tagged. I tried clearing the image and refreshing the metadata, and still the same.

They look somewhat similar, but definitely noticeable.

I just duplicated the first album art tagged as the third one in mp3tag. Somehow, I am still seeing the second one after clearing the image and refreshing metadata.

After doing some more testing, it looks like this is just happening on compilations / albums tagged as Various Artists.

This is not happening where the Album Artist and the Artist are the same.

@Luke I am currently on the latest beta, and it seems to have been partially resolved. When playing the song, it shows the first album art that is tagged to the song, but when browsing the library and when displayed among other albums, it shows the second.

I refreshed all metadata last night for my entire library, so that might have done something as well.

Right because in one case you're looking at the image assigned to the track, and in the other case you're looking at the image assigned to the album.
