Metadata being overwritten in Collections?

Hi,

I don't use Emby in the normal way with movies and tv shows. I use it for home video and photos. So I have a bunch of videos from our holidays etc. All videos are in one folder, type is set to "Home Videos & Photos" in the library. And then I use Collections to group videos together into different events. This is where my Metadata problems start. I want to use the Collections Genre and Studios metadata to be able to filter different events in the Collections overview. BUT, this metadata seems to be replaced or deleted automatically by Emby. 

For example, I go into the Metadata Manager, I open Collections and my 100+ collections are listed. Then I select one of them, say "Rhodes 2019". And under Genre I add Summer 2019. Now when I go into Collections I can filter and get all collections that I've added the Summer 2019 genre too. To us that is super neat.

But when I come back a day later, the Summer 2019 genre has been completely deleted from all my collections, and its like Ive never added any Metadata.

I have ticked the "Lock this item to prevent future changes" option, but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Should specify that I'm using version 4.4.2.0. I don't want to update because I've done some custom edits to the js files. Specifically the search to be able to get more search results and some other things.
